Giclée Reviews A few Comments from people who have received Giclee Prints On receiving a Giclee print of Market Square Heroes I had expected nothing but quality from Mark as I had ordered some other non-Giclee prints in the past and had been very happy. Upon opening the Giclee print I have to say I was astonished by the difference in this print as compared to other prints I have previously received. The colours on the print are nothing short of stunning with the image almost jumping off the paper. I finally have a print which does real justice to a beautiful and yet menacing piece of art. The texture of the print gives a feeling of depth and warmth and almost glows with the vibrancy of the colours. It is the closest thing I have seen to an original hand painted piece of art. This is the first time I have seen art printed using Giclee printing. It is obvious why Mark has chosen this medium as it is an opportunity for him to show his work in a format which is worthy of both artist and lovers of his work alike chris simm I did want to send you real feedback on the prints as promised, and I do apologize for the delay. Quite simply-they are stunning. The color is amazing and the level of detail that was captured-the clarity is unbelievable! The certificates of authenticity are something else too-its wonderful that you were able to include information on the album and what the pieces represented. Misplaced Childhood was the first Marillion album that I heard, and Script ended up being one of my favorites~ both of them are special albums to me, and the fact that the covers will now be hanging on my wall makes me happier than you can imagine. If I could just decide what type of frames to get......It was a pleasure dealing with you, thanks again for answering my questions and making this possible-you should be very proud that so many years after albums were released, people are clamoring to buy prints of the covers-your work has stood the test of time. Polly Petersen After having to delay examining the 'Satellite' debut cover print due to the 4th of July holiday, I finally was able to do so last night after arriving home from work. I did not open it until I arrived at the gallery to decide on a frame to display it in. I must say, that upon opening the tube, we were hit with a very vibrant array of 'deep/rich' colors on a cushioned medium !! The print just blew us away with it's 'textured feel' !! My friend at this gallery has seen the 'giclee' process before, and was very pleased with this very fine example. Working with the 'pure' color scheme made it a pleasure deciding on a suitable frame ! We finished the process in less than half an hours' time. I am really excited to display 'A Street Between Sunrise And Sunset' in my music room in about two weeks time ! The frame and matting really makes the print stand out majestically !! Thank you very much for all of your assistance, and be sure that we will treasure this piece of art for a long time ! David Grden The print is absolutely fabulous! He Knows You Know was the very first Marillion single I ever bought. I have had it professionally framed and I have sent you a picture to show you how it looks. The quality of the print is stunning and the picture has already attracted a lot of comments! The guy in the shop where it was framed was equally impressed with the certificate of authenticity and claimed it was by far the nicest one he had ever seen! Many thanks, Glenn Davies I just received in
the mail last night a copy of the 'Warm Wet Circles' Print, from Mark,
and must say that these prints are superb to absolutely anything I
have seen before. The paper that the print is done on is delicate,
and the certificate that I received with it, explained in detail the
art piece as well as the thought process behind it. Jeff Kuhns Got my print of the Kayleigh sleeve and it looks fantastic ! Being one of my favorite artworks and of course the song one of my favorites too it is great to have artwork of this quality. Now the question is which one to get next ! Vidar Jonsson 'Having always been
a huge admirer of Mark Wilkinson's artwork for Marillion from 1981
to 1987, I thought it was about time I contacted him to see if I could
purchase any of the originals, (I wish!!) or at least some decent
prints. In particular I had always marvelled at four of his album/single
designs; "Script For A Jesters Tear", "Fugazi",
"He Knows You Know", and Gyles Stoke I can't believe they
got here so quickly! They look great! I took them out and looked for
two minutes before I ran out the Polly Petersen
Angus Dalzell Got the print on Wed
I believe, and I must say it looks great. I, among others, have always
been looking for good versions of your
(who will be doing some eBay auctions to buy another print from you . . . )
Here's my feedback on the Misplaced Childhood print you sent me in January; sorry it took me so long... but maybe you can place in on your website in the reviews section. First of all, the delivery was astonishingly quick! Packing was immaculate. When I opened it I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the print. The colours are so vibrant and jumping towards you, astonishing. When I took it to the shop to have it professionally framed, and later when I picked it up there again, the employees were unanimous in their admiring of the print (and two of them knew it had something to do with some rockband, one actually named Marillion, which was a pleasant suprise to me). I have had it framed in a dark passe partout, with a blue ribbon around it, which brings the colours even more to life, see attachment. It now has a prominent place in my home and every day I look at it with great admiration and satisfaction. So, thanks again and I hope you will go on a long time with your great work. Dik Sas
